M.B Restaurant Identity

Dining out reveals a deep cultural north south divide across Europe. Whilst diners in the UK accept that the finest meals are usually served in hotels like The Ritz, The Savoy or Claridge's, the further south you venture the preference shifts to dedicated small restaurants.

When the Abama Golf & Spa Resort commissioned Thomas Manss & Company to come up with the identity for the resort's flagship restaurant run by Basque chef Martín Berasategui, it was clear from the outset that the restaurant should carry his name. In order to avoid confusion with Berasategui's own restaurant in the north of Spain, the identity was built around his initials and applied to everything from door signs to menus.
