Save the Children Peace Prize

At the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo in December 2008, the charity Save the Children presented a flock of brightly-coloured doves for peace. At a workshop led by famous British artist Ben Johnson, each dove had been created by a child from around the world showing their view of peace.

The initial idea was to create a sculpture featuring all the children's doves so they could be presented at the Ceremony. The result of close collaboration between artist Ben Johnson, architects Foster + Partners and Thomas Manss & Company was a dove sculpture inscribed with the names of forty Nobel Peace Prize winners and a celebratory book featuring all the children's designs.
