To encourage the exchange with international partners, the German Foreign Office and the German Ministry of Education and Research have established German Houses of Science and Innovation (DWIHs) in five countries. 

The German Federal Foreign Office is responsible for the country's foreign politics and represents Germany’s interests globally.  With 2,200 staff at its headquarters in the capital Berlin and a network of 229 missions abroad, the Foreign Office maintains relations with other countries and international organisations.

The federal agency aims to communicate a positive, up-do-date image of Germany through its embassies and consulates-general and works closely with partners including business associations, unions as well as humanitarian and human rights organisations.

With approximately 100,000 tennants Gesobau is one of the leading housing associations in Berlin. The organisation has become a role model for the Berlin housing market through ongoing process optimisation, longterm planning, community involvement and sustainable portfolio maintenance.

The German Association of Technology Transfer and Innovation Association (DTI) brings together the leading consultancies for innovation and technology in Germany. DTI supports the German Mittelstand (small and medium sized enterprises) by acting as a multiplier, stakeholder, catalyst and quality manager for technology projects. As the link between politics and business DTI promotes Germany as a key location for sustainable innovation.

First established in the United Kingdom in 1919, separate national organisations have been set up in more than twenty-eight countries, sharing the aim of improving the lives of children through education, health care and economic opportunities.

ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg GmbH (ZAB) is Brandenburg's central agency for business development and for consultancy services in the fields of technology, innovation and energy.

ZAB can therefore offer a specialised range of services which focus on supporting the recipients of state, federal or EU subsidies and on providing assistance in all financing issues.

ZAB is a one-stop agency with a two-pronged approach: providing assistance for companies settling in Brandenburg and support for Brandenburg's companies wanting to invest abroad.

The Ministry of Economics aims to create economic parameters for companies in the Brandenburg region that will attract inward investment and growth.

The key objective is to help start-ups and foreign companies and to foster the development of the innovation, technology and media sectors as well as the relevant infrastructure.

Created by the United Nations General Assembly in 1946 to help children after World War II in Europe, UNICEF was first known as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. In 1953, UNICEF became a permanent part of the United Nations system, its task being to help children living in poverty in developing countries. Its name was shortened to the United Nations Children's Fund, but it retained the acronym "UNICEF," by which it is known to this day.
