Design Harmony
This little booklet includes examples of a special kind of harmony: a harmony of colour and sound. It is inspired by the peculiar phenomenon of multiple sensation or “synesthesia”. Synesthetic people can taste words, see sounds or hear colours. Russian composer Alexander Scriabin was one of the first to catalogue his colour/note associations: C# was violet and E was “pearly white and shimmer of moonlight”.
