Foster + Partners, ARAG Tower, Prestel
Description

Foster + Partners, ARAG Tower, Prestel

Upon completion of their new headquarters in Düsseldorf, German insurance company ARAG and their architects Foster and Partners decided to celebrate the building's completion with a limited edition book.

Rather than following the tradition of architectural publishing and telling the building's story through architectural drawings and photographs, Thomas Manss & Company designed a publication which takes a broader look at its subject. Four photographic essays by leading photographers, punctuate the chronology of the design and building process. The essays give rare insights into the building's hidden secrets as well as taking a humorous look at the way people have made it their 'home'. The photographs are presented as pieces of art uninterupted by text or captions. A caption page with thumbnails of the photographs can be found at the end of each picture section.
